Description:
As part of a Sales team, the successful System Engineer candidate will provide technical sales support for sales opportunities within assigned territories and programs; will perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers and will support customers with Ixia products evaluation, bake-offs and provide hands-on engagements in the important testing programs with China Carriers (China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom) and top Cloud customers (Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent, etc.).
Be able to provide IP L2-7 Test Consultancy in the form of delivery of test plans, the execution of test plans, customer advising of results of testing. The candidate must have very strong Networking and Protocols knowledge. An ideal background would be a test engineer with working experiences in Service Provider testing projects, Cloud testing projects, or an R&D Test or Systems Integration and Network Equipment Testing environment.
Candidate Skills & Experience
Ø Pre-sales and/or post-sales or QA experience is desired
Ø 5+ years networking industry experience; network equipment testing is a plus.
Ø Technical background and understanding of Ethernet switching, routing, IP Protocols, and Virtualization.
Ø Knowledge of networking technologies, protocols, services and applications including Ethernet, Metro Ethernet, IPv4/IPv6, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, MPLS VPNs, QoS, VoIP and TCP.
Ø Knowledge of Data, Voice, Video testing and WLAN testing would be a plus.
Ø Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ø Must be able to translate and document customer needs into requirements
Ø Highly organized and possess a keen analytical and structured approach to problem solving.
Ø Must be able to operate independently juggling multiple competing priorities.
Ø Personable, Confident Team Player, Customer Focused.
Ø This job will require some travel, willing to work at customer location and the ability to communicate, both oral and written, on complex technical and sales issues.
Ø Bachelors of Engineering in Computer science/ECE Networking or equivalent.
Ø Candidate must possess a keen technical mind capable of quickly grasping new technologies.
